Enriching Life Through Music

Becoming A Tutor With Living Music

Becoming a tutor with Living Music is a great way for self employed musicians and teachers to find new pupils.  And there is no cost or administrative work to you.

The role is to provide music lessons (any instrument and voice/singing) to students (children and adults) in Hertfordshire and the Middlesex area.  The number of students you take on is entirely flexible and teaching can be done at your own home, or by travelling to students’ homes.  An hourly rate, dependent on experience, will be agreed and revised annually.

We believe that the best teaching comes from those who have a passion and love for music, combined with strong technique and musicianship.

We review all application forms and CVs that are sent to us and successful candidates will be invited to a relaxed interview so we can determine face to face what kind of person they are and whether their skills fit with the ethos of Living Music.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be passionate about music and have an enthusiastic approach to inspiring learners in their chosen instrument or voice.
  • You must have the relevant Bachelors Degree or have ABRSM’s grade 5 theory and grade 8 practical certificates.
  • You must be reliable and well-organised.
  • You must have a recent CRB/DBS check or will need to apply for/gain one before joining the team.
  • You must keep a record of hours taught each month and invoice ‘Living Music’ accordingly.
